Ethel Thomson
Ephraim, Utah

Ethel Kay Thomson, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023.  She was an amazing mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was born on March 18, 1936 in Levan, Utah to Heber C. and Vinese Shepherd Taylor.  She married Edward L “Ted” Thomson in the Manti Utah Temple.  They made their lifelong home in Ephraim.
Ethel enjoyed many things in life.  She liked working in her yard, music, sewing, reading a good book, cooking, and sharing recipes for the delicious food she made.  She was a good story teller and had a hidden talent of yodeling.  She had many jobs over the years, working tirelessly to help provide for her family.  One of her favorites was working as the secretary for the Dean of Students at Snow College.  Her husband and family were her greatest joy and she loved serving them.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Stan) Ballard, Payson; brothers: Grant (Dixie) Taylor, Bountiful; Brent Taylor, West Valley City; grandchildren: Brook (Zac) Davis, Nathan (Felicia) Thomson, Justin (Gillean) Thomson, Jason (Kayla) Thomson, Keelie (Wyatt) Snow, Tyler (Ashely) Thomson, Aubree (Mike) Coakley, Danielle (Chad) Cossairt, Easton (Kamry) Thomson; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; son, Kay Edward Thomson; grandson, Clint Ballard; sister, Linda Tenney; and sister-in-law, Vickie Taylor.
Ethel was a warrior. She battled health issues for a number of years.  She was a true example of strength and determination up until her last breath.  The family would like to personally thank Mary Patterson for all her concern, friendship and loving care of Ethel.
At her request there will be no public viewing.  Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 12:30 pm in the Ephraim Park Cemetery.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
