Errol Ray Jones, 77, of Hurricane and originally of Sterling Utah, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at his home. Errol was born on April 20, 1941 in Gunnison, Utah to Dorthella Larsen Jones. His mother and father, Ray Jones, had divorced prior to his birth.
Errol was raised in Sterling. His mother married Lafe Ludvigson on January 7, 1944 and as Errol grew up he helped on the family farm and spent a lot of time with his grandparents, Roy and Ethel Larsen. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and soon after he left home to pursue his interests in acting and the theater. He spent time at Grand Canyon, Salt Lake City, and also lived in Hollywood, California for many years where he was active in acting, singing and playing the piano. Errol was very talented! His later years were spent in southern Utah where he preformed in many different roles at the Tuacahn Theater. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was endowed in the temple in 2002 and sealed to his parents, Lafe and Dorthella Ludvigson.
Errol is survived by his brothers: Douglas (Cozette) Ludvigson, Curtis (Laurie) Ludvigson; sister-in-law, Vickie Ludvigson; 13 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews who love him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gail and Glade Ludvigson; nephews Wayne and Jason Ludvigson.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the Sterling Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. On–line guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
