Ernest Raymond Baxter, 82, born January 1, 1933 in Gunnison to Ernest and Berdella Sorensen Baxter. Died December 28, 2015 in Gunnison at home of natural causes.
Wonderful husband to surviving wife, Maris Firl Fautin, married June 20, 1952 in the Manti Temple. Loving father to surviving son, MacRay (Sheila) Baxter; son, James Ernest (Julie) Baxter; daughter, Suzanne (Boyd) Buxton; 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter; 2 great-grandsons with another coming in January, and 1 great-granddaughter. Other survivors include sister, Laura Mae (Gary) Johnson; brother-in-law, Dallas (Judy) Fautin.
Preceded in death by parents; grandsons: Tyler Baxter, Corey Buxton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield Ward Chapel, 210 South Main, where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery.
