Emma Jane Nielson, 91, passed away at home in Central Valley on February 27, 2016. Jane was born March 21, 1924 to George Franklin and Mary Cottam Emett in Richfield, Utah. She married Keith George Nielson, February 10, 1947 in Sparks, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized March 24, 1973 in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away on July 15, 2002 after 55 years of marriage.

After graduating from high school, Jane worked in Salt Lake City in an ammunition plant during WWII. After the war she returned to Sevier Valley. She married her long-time sweetheart and had her children. She worked as a waitress and in retail throughout her years in the Sevier valley.

Jane was active in the LDS Church holding various positions. One of her favorites was being a librarian. She also enjoyed visiting teaching.

Nothing made her happier than having her family around. Jane was a great cook and loved sharing her food with everyone. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her family’s clothes, also sewing for friends and neighbors. She enjoyed quilting. She made quilts for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She knitted and crocheted for us. too.

She is survived by her children: George Bryce (Janis) Nielson, Central Valley; Bonnie (George) Martin, Midway; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Myrtle Martin, Las Vegas, NV.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband; son, Steven K (Jillene) Nielson; grandchildren: Alicyn and Jared Nielson; siblings: Frank (Von), Ellen (Jack) Lambert, Dean (Lois), Ilene (Bob) Rittman, Ruth (Chet) Cobain, Rose (Gill) Ayers.

The family wishes to thank Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of Jane.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Central Valley Ward Chapel, 65 N Main. Friends may call Magleby Mortuary Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning 10:30 to 11:30 at the ward chapel in Central Valley. Burial in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
