Emalee Hansen Curtis, 76 of Monroe Utah passed away May 31, 2019 in Richfield, Utah. She was born December 23, 1942 to Elbert Dewane and Donna Spafford Hansen in Richfield, Utah. Emalee grew up in Richfield graduating from Richfield High School in 1961. She was very active in student government serving as Yearbook Editor her senior year. She married the love of her life, Calvin L Curtis July 28, 1961 in the Manti Temple. Later that fall they both attended Southern Utah University. She and Calvin were blessed with three boys.

She was blessed to serve in many capacities in the community. In 1982 she started her career as the Monroe City Recorder where she worked until her retirement in 2018. She worked hard and earned many awards through her service. She also spent time serving in the Fireman's Auxiliary, Monroe Civic League, Riding Club and various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her most recent calling was serving in the Manti Temple with Calvin which she loved.

In Emalee's spare time she enjoyed reading, traveling, camping on her beloved Monroe Mountain, horse races and traveling to jackpots with her best friend and husband Calvin. Her favorite times were spent spending time with her family. Many of those times were spent working
on the farm at Hi Roe Dairy. We will miss her contagious smile, her quick wit and her love for all those she came in contact with.

Emalee is survived by her husband Calvin; children: Craig (Stephanie), Bruce (RaeLee),
Gary (Tricia); 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Jim (Randi) Hansen, SueAnn Curtis, Donna Louese Downing, Mary Carol (Kim) Blackburn; sister-in-law, Willa Hansen. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Kylee Curtis; brother: John Hansen; brothers-in-law: Neil Curtis, John Downing.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11 :00 a.m. in the Monroe Stake Center, 140 South Main. Viewing will also be held Monday June 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
