Elva Llveda Goulding Sheppard, 94, passed away January 2, 2014 in Panguitch. She was born January 11, 1919 in Henrieville, to William Elan and Almeda Willis Goulding. She married Lyman Sheppard, February 7, 1938 in Joseph. The marriage was solemnized October 24, 1964 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death January 21, 1973.

Elva will most be remembered as a great mother and wife, a wonderful grandmother. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she taught Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. Also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers

A long-time resident of Springville, Elva worked 30 years as a nurse’s aid and clerk in the Utah Valley Hospital. She traveled with senior citizens and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, temple work, and bowling. An excellent gardener, she won many ribbons for her beautiful roses.

Elva is survived by children: Darrell Kay (Kayleen) Sheppard, Orem; Kathryn (Doyle) Neilson, Henrieville; Gary (Marilyn) Sheppard, Provo; Vern Sheppard; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; sister: Mae (Vaughn) Twitchell, Cannonville.

Also preceded in death by parents; a great-grandson; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Graveside services and interment will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, Springville. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hobble Creek 1st Ward, 555 South 600 East, Springville. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
