Elva Jensen

Elva Mae Forbush Jensen, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 24, 2015 in Monroe, at the age of 85. She was born in Monroe on March 11, 1930. She was the second child of Guy LaVor and Lavon Marble Forbush. She graduated from Richfield High School. She worked for the phone company in Richfield.
Elva met the love of her life, Norris C. Jensen, and they wrote letters to each other while Norris was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. They were married December 15, 1952 in Monroe. The marriage was solemnized March 12, 1963 in the Manti Temple. They had four children.. He preceded her in death October 16, 2009. Together they created a home filled with love and laughter where everyone knew they were welcome.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elva was a dedicated visiting teacher and a Primary worker. She served as the ward librarian for many years. She worked closely with Norris as ward financial clerk. Elva loved the Lord.
Elva had many talents and interests. She made beautiful quilts for family members. She knitted, crocheted and she was a wonderful cook. She loved doing yard work and was very involved in doing genealogy. She was a wonderful help meet to our dad.
Elva is survived by her children: Deborah Lee (Jim) Walker, Paul LaVor (Estella) Jensen, Peggy Lyn Twitchell, all of Monroe; Daniel Norris (Christine) Jensen, Bicknell; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Kyle Forbush, SLC; sisters: Marjorie Burr, Monroe; Carol (Dean) Lowe; Murray; in-laws: Fred (Mary) Jensen, Sandy; Marlene (LeRoy) Nelson, Tooele; Ann (Bill) Roberts, Washington.
She was also preceded in death by parents; son-in-law, Raymond Dick Twitchell; grandson: Chris Paulson; great-granddaughters: Eliza Lee Paulsen, Lillian Lynn Jensen, TyLee Mae Bagley; in-laws: Barbara Forbush, Boyd Egbert, Bruce Burr, Dean (Raeola) Jensen, Reed (LaRue) Jensen, Richard (Lorretta) Jensen, Donna (Glen) Sheffield, Groo Jensen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe Stake Center. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield and at the stake center from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
