Ellis Crowther Peterson, 77, of Ephraim, passed away on October 5, 2019, surrounded by his family. Ellis was born on July 13, 1942 in Manti, Utah to Max L and Mildred Crowther Peterson. He married Merlene Jensen on December 5, 1969 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Ellis served in the United Sates Army during Vietnam. He worked as a coal miner and farmer. Ellis’ main drives where serving and loving his family as well as serving those around him. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served a mission to the Eastern Atlantic States.
He is survived by his wife, Merlene; children: Heather Peterson, Ephraim; MeRee (Daniel) Jacobson, Richfield; Michael Ellis (Tamara) Peterson, Klamath Falls, OR; Sylvia Thompson, Gallop, NM; Thomas Edvin (Jamie) Peterson, Ephraim; Trace Fieler (Arrin) Peterson, Ephraim. Ellis is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and his siblings: DelRita (Thomas) Heaps, Salina; Maxine (Wayne) Carrol, Kenai, AK. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the Ephraim 3rd Ward Chapel, 400 East Center, Ephraim. Viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery with military honors. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
