Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Elizabeth Joy Betenson Ogden, 81, passed away December 12, 2013 in Richfield. She was born October 20, 1932 in Ogden the only child of Blaine and Jean Heywood Betenson. She married the love of her life, Dale H. Ogden, March 16, 1951 in the Manti Temple.
Joy grew up in Utah, and has lived in California, Okinawa, Guam, and Nebraska. She was active in the LDS Church serving as music director, pianist, and in a Relief Society presidency.  She was a life-long genealogist. With her husband, she served a mission to Nauvoo, Illinois and were ordinance workers in the Manti Temple for 17 years.  She was a member of DUP and served as president of Richfield Camp and Sevier Center Company. She loved music and people. She remembered names and faces of everyone she met. She chose nursing as a career because of her caring nature.
Joy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dale; children: David D. (Pamela) Ogden, Sugar City, ID; Donald B (Jackie) Ogden, Austin, TX; Benjamin C. Ogden, Kirksville, MO; Carol J. (Atelea) Nepoté, Bountiful; daughters-in-law: Suzi Ogden, Boise, ID: Amy Ogden, Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph B. Ogden; grandson, Benjamin Irvine.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Richfield 9th Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West.  Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, Richfield and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ward chapel.  Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
