Ed Quinney
Monroe, Utah
"I can't promise that I'll be here for the rest of your life, but I can promise that I'll love you for the rest of mine."
My loving sweetheart, Eldon P. Quinney left this mortal life on January 23, 2014 to rest in eternal peace. Eldon "Ed" was born in Logan, Utah on February 1, 1931 to Percival & Nellie Griffiths Quinney. He grew up in Logan where he attended Logan city schools and then graduated from Utah State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent four years serving his country. Upon his return he met and married Coreen Nielson in the Logan LDS Temple on August 10, 1956.
He spent 32 years in Las Vegas, NV where he taught high school for 10 years and was awarded "teacher of the year" the first year and received an all expense paid trip to Florida, accompanied with his wife. Later he built and owned his family business. Upon retiring he moved to Central Valley.
He was an avid reader of the scriptures and church history and spent many years teaching the Gospel Doctrine class. Previously, he had served as scout master, Elder’s Quorum President, executive stake clerk to four stake presidents.
Ed will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was well known as "Honest Ed".
He loved his family so very much which includes sons: Corde (Vickie), Craig (Lisa), Kirk (Sherry), Kyle (Joy); 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He witnessed each son fulfill a mission and marry in the temple.
Preceding him in death was infant son Nordell; parents; sister, Sarah; brothers: William, Calvin and Claude.
Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard.
