Eileen Taylor-Roberts
Salt Lake City, Utah
Our spunky, passionate, and fiercely loving wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend, A. Eileen Wright Taylor-Roberts passed away on Friday January 6, 2017 in Salt Lake City. She was born August 4, 1921, in Ogden, Utah to Leland B. and Clotield Wilson Wright. She graduated from Ogden High School.
Eileen married Kenneth Tine Roberts, January 17, 1943, later divorced. She married Owen D. Taylor, December 6, 1983 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1992. She remarried Kenneth Roberts on June 4, 1994. He also preceded her in death, May 15, 2004.
Eileen worked for Gibson’s Discount in Ogden and Murray for several years. She moved to Richfield in 2001, where she resided until 2008. She moved to Salt Lake with her daughter Tami and lived there until her passing.
A devoted member of the LDS Church, Eileen had a profound and unwavering connection to the Lord. She found a lot of fulfillment in her temple work. Some of her favorite things were dancing, music, and flowers. Although her hearing and eyesight deteriorated in her later years inhibiting her from engaging in some of her favorite hobbies like watching TV and reading, the love from a cute little Schnauzer named Bay-Lee filled her with enough joy to carry her into the end of her life.
How do you capture the essence of someone’s life in a few paragraphs? You can’t and you don’t. Because, when you’re standing at the end of someone’s life, you’re not looking back to count their achievements, you remember what they left behind in your heart. Thank you for filling our hearts. It is in our hearts, you will forever stay.
She is survived by son, Kenneth Alan (Sylvia) Roberts, Horeshoe Bend, ID; daughters: Sherri (John) LeFevre, Monroe; Tami (Ray) Colledge, Salt Lake; and Becky (Mike) Rupp, Murray; step-daughter, Betty Lou (Art) Ostler, Nephi; sister Beverly (Jack) Hunt, Sacramento, CA; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 43 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
