Charles Duane Gramse, 82, passed away April 4, 2013 at his home in Richfield. He was born June 13, 1930 in Richfield to Charles Arthur and Alice Lorean Shelton Gramse. He married Maurine Hansen, March 19, 1954 in Richfield. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple June 13, 1958.

Duane was a Master Sergeant in the Army/National Guard, serving in the Korean War.

An active member of the LDS Church, Duane held several callings, including: bishopric counselor, high councilor, a Seventy, in the leadership of the Elder’s Quorum and High Priests and the Yoomeenchoopeets Indian Branch. A great gospel doctrine teacher.

Duane loved his family dearly, especially being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of stellar integrity. He and Maurine were the foster parents of three Native American children. A sports enthusiast, he loved watching all sports and enjoyed bowling. He was active in the farming industry and did a lot of custom work.

Survived by wife, Maurine; children: Leslie (Cindy) Gramse, West Jordan; Russell (Kathy) Gramse, Taylorsville; Sherrie Martin, Springville; Richard (Donna) Gramse, Harrisville; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with 4 more on the way; siblings: Harold Gramse, Richfield; Cheryl Madsen, Richfield; Ronald Gramse, West Point.

Preceded in death by parents; son, Kenley; grandson, Alexander Martin; brothers: Max and an infant brother; brother-in-law, Robert Madsen.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 5 th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 East. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, Richfield; and Tuesday at the ward chapel from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military rites by the V.
