Doug Chugg, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 2, 1934 in Smithfield, Utah to Melvin and Ruth Rash Chugg.
He was raised on a farm in Providence, Utah where he learned the value of hard work and a love of animals. He graduated from South Cache High School and Seminary. He had a successful career in telecommunications working for Western Electric, where Doug and Karen traveled and lived in many different places in their early years of marriage. He enjoyed coaching many youth baseball and basketball teams, allowing him to spend time with his son.
He was an active member of the LDS church where he served in many capacities. He particularly enjoyed working with the young men, where he was often referred to as "Papa Chugg". He was a great example of showing compassion and giving service. Everyone he met felt his warmth and kindness and was considered his friend. Doug had a warm loving smile that will be missed.
