Dorothy M. Duncan, 93, of Manti, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Centerfield, UT, after a long and courageous battle. Dorothy was born January 1, 1922, to Rudolf and Elsie Martius in Sanborn, Minnesota. She married her sweetheart, Byron Duncan, in Sanborn, Minnesota on September 12, 1941. They lived the first part of their married life in Minnesota where three sons were born. Later, they moved to Utah where three daughters were born. Dorothy enjoyed attending the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Richfield and was a friend to many. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and going on long walks. "Granny" was a hard worker and a good wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her six children: Gary (Sidnee) Duncan, of Manti; David Duncan, of Manti; Rickie (Arlene) Duncan, of Magna; Kathy (Larry) Sorensen of Elko, NV; Becky (Curtis) Kjar, of Manti and Kelly Nielson, of Manti. Dorothy is also survived by a sister, Mary Lou Miller, of Grantsville, 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, one brother and one sister.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the Gunnison Valley Hospital, Dr. Cary Judy and Staff, Gunnison Valley Hospice and the staff at Mission at Community Living and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Liberty Hall Reception Center, 87 North Main, Manti. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Magleby Mortuary, Manti and also prior to services on Thursday at Liberty Hall from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery.
