Dorothy Marie Tolboe Dalley, 93, passed away on February 26, 2019 in Gunnison. She was born September 9, 1925 in Redmond to Amos S and Elverda Christensen Tolboe. She married Melvin Wilden Dalley on June 9, 1944 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had three children. He preceded her in death August 4, 2010.

Dorothy was known in the community as "Aunt Dot" or "Grandma Dot". She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many callings, even a faithful visiting teacher into her nineties. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing clothing for her family and herself. Many people are proud owners of one of the afghan blankets she hand made. Whenever people came to see her she always had food to offer them. She enjoyed working alongside her husband on the farm. Her favorite thing was working in her yard making sure she had beautiful flowers which brought her great happiness. Her candy dish was never empty, she was a grandma to all and it didn’t matter if you were related or not. She had a heart of gold and was accepting of everyone. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved her club ladies.

She is survived by her children: JoAnn (Don) Smith, Blanding; David (Janice) Dalley, Riverton; and Marie (Kerry) Montague, Gunnison;12 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; brother, Leith (Eleanor) Tolboe.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Eric Johnson; great-grandson, Joshua Axelgard; siblings: Marvel (Reid) Hansen, Louise (Carlyle) Sorenson, Ellen (Junior) Nordfelt, Garth (Beulah) Tolboe.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunnison Stake Center, where friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery.
