Dorothy Bell Sorensen Cox, 94, of Manti, left this life on Monday, February 13, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.  Her arrival was celebrated by Ray P. Cox, Luann Cox, Adeline and Edward Sorensen, Adriene Platero, Carl David, Peter Castle and Ramona Perry.

Dorothy was born February 10, 1918 in Taylor, Texas to Edward and Adeline Sorensen.  She was educated in Manti public schools, Snow College and BYU, where she received her Bachelors Degree in elementary education.  She taught for 25 years in the South Sanpete School District and served in many various professional capacities.

She married Ray P. Cox on March 22, 1940 in the Manti Temple and they enjoyed being the parents of six children, five daughters and one son.  Luann, their first, passed away in infancy.

Dorothy enjoyed serving and socializing in many organizations.  One of note was the Ladies Literary Club, where she served as president for a period of time.  Dorothy served in various capacities as an active member of the LDS Church.  Dorothy and Ray served a full time mission in Virginia and worked as temple workers.  She actively contributed to the Humanitarian Service up until right before her death.  Dorothy was beloved by her family as she and Ray attended many activities in school and church to celebrate their families accomplishments and activities.

She is survived by her children: David (Kathy) Cox, Susan (Dan) Corcoran, both of Manti; Margaret “Peggy” (Gene) Castle, Antionette “Toni” (Rulon) Ebert, both of Mesa, AZ; Loralie Cox, SLC; sisters: Mildred Hersman, SLC; Ora Mae Hyatt, Orem; and brother, Rey Sorensen, Manti; 23 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Tabernacle.  Friends may call on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Tabernacle and also Saturday prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.  Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
