Dorothy Leah Bridges

April 13, 1930 — April 10, 2015

Dorothy Leah Hicks Bridges, 84 of Sevier, passed away April 10, 2015 in Richfield, just 3 days short of her 85 th birthday. She was born April 13, 1930 in Joseph to Archie and Beulah Matilda Robinson Hicks.

She married Bobbie Lin Bridges, July 23, 1948 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was solemnized June 27, 1949 in the Manti Utah Temple. He preceded her in death March 18, 2001.

She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings. She loved genealogy, working on community and civic projects and was a contributor to the Richfield Reaper for the communities of Sevier and Joseph.

Dorothy enjoyed her family, friends and neighbors and had a sweet spirit about her in the way that complete strangers would adopt her as their own. She loved being able to serve them.

Her survivors include her children: Wendy Bridges of Salt Lake, Sandra Callery of Sevier, Lloyd (Bridgette) Bridges of Sevier, Lesa (Scott) Swaner of Wallace, ID, Covette (Mike) Cash of Layton, Rex (Stephanie) Bridges of South Jordan; Christy (Craig) Kelsey of Duchesne who was like a daughter to Dorothy. Also 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Max (Joyce) Hicks of Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson; sisters, Olive Poulson, LaVene Orock; brothers, John Hicks, Robert Hicks.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Joseph LDS Ward Chapel, 50 West Center in Elsinore, Utah. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 or at the Joseph Ward Chapel in Elsinore on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemtery.
