Dorothy Cameron Barney, 86, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2017. She was born October 3, 1931 in Panguitch, Utah to Sherman and Faun Cameron, the oldest of five siblings. Dorothy married the love of her life, LaMar Barney, June 23, 1948 in the St. George Utah Temple, where they were sealed for all eternity.
Dorothy and LaMar are the parents of 6 children and raised them in a household of faith. She was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. She epitomized the saying "endure to the end". She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, but her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her husband LaMar; children: Laraine Marble, Barbara (Dennis) Dalton, Janell (Lisa) Barney, Janett Barney, Lewis (Sue) Barney; daughter-in-law, Elaine Barney; foster son Kelvin Yazzie, 24 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; sisters Evelyn and Lucille.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Barney; sons-in-law: Bruce Marble and Bill Duckett; sister, Elaine Reese; brother, John Cameron.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in the Hatch LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Hatch Cemetery.
