Doris LaRene McBride

Doris LaRene Sjostrom Obray Smith McBride, 97 of Sevier, Utah, passed away, December 9, 2014 in Richfield, Utah. She was born April 20, 1917 in Logan, Utah to Oscar Sjostrom and Geneva Hincks Sjostrom.

Doris married Golden Jackson Obray in 1939. He preceded her in death, November 2, 1941. She married Alva Norris Smith, he preceded her in death in 1957. She married Aaron McBride in 1962, he preceded her in death in 1992.

Doris grew up in Cache Valley and graduated from Logan High School. She was known for her embroidery work and made beautiful apparel for family members and friends to wear. She has worked as a bookkeeper, a manager of a flower shop and a hair dresser. She was an elegant lady and dressed the part. She stressed to her family the importance of looking your best and being respectful.

She is survived by her children: Deanne Willis, Henderson, NV; Golden (Leila) Obray, Sevier; step-children: Alva "Skipper" Smith Jr., Phoenix, AZ; Dennis McBride, Grantsville; Diane (Tyler) VorWaller, Tooele; 25 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Colleen (Lee) Hixon, California; sisters-in-law: Mildred Obray, Layton; Lydia Mae Kendrick, Logan.

She is also preceded in death by grandchildren: Tony Obray and Paula Campbell; son-in-law, Paul Willis.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Joseph LDS Ward Chapel, 50 North Center in Elsinore, where friends may call on Monday from 9:00 to 10:30. Burial will be on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Cache Valley in the Paradise Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
