Clyde Rosenvall

Gunnison, Utah

Don Clyde Rosenvall, 88, passed away, in Salt Lake City, with loved ones at his side on July 6, 2016. We are grateful that he is now at rest after battling various illnesses over the last few years. Clyde was born on October 11, 1927 in Gunnison to Lenno Garland and Loretta Jeppson Rosenvall. He married Norma Jean Mellor, June 4, 1949 in Fayette, Utah.

We as family are very grateful for all that our husband, father and grandfather meant to us. He was always there to help family and others however he could. Clyde had a special talent with fixing things. He had a great mechanical mind. We knew that if anyone could fix the problem, it was Clyde.

Clyde had a great work ethic, and was a successful small business owner. He worked long hours to ensure his business was successful and so he could support his family. All who associated with him knew him as a person of honesty and integrity. Jean, his wife and our beloved mother and grandmother, was with him side by side in everything.

Clyde served in World War II and also was involved in the community Jaycees organization and also served on the Gunnison City council. He served as president of the Gunnison Chamber of Commerce. Clyde loved to fly, and built two airplanes by himself. He also enjoyed raising a garden each summer.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Norma Jean; his two sons: Les (Jeanene) and Greg (Marcia), and a sister, Geraldine Whitlock (Robert) Larson. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clay and Terry; sister, Virginia Scheier.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Gunnison Stake Center, 80 West Center. Friends may call at the stake center Sunday from 6-8 p.m. or Monday from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison Cemetery with military rites by the Gunnison American Legion Post #104 and Utah Honor Guard.
