Don Jamison

Donald LeRoy Jamison, 84, passed away November 12, 2019 at his home in Venice. He was born November 23, 1934 in Bristow, OK to George Robert and Ethel Scott Williams Jamison. He married Enid Davis on February 2, 1962 in the Manti Temple. Enid preceded him in death March 27, 2019.
Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions and service missions. He served in the Navy as an electrician and in mine disposal from 1953-55. In Alaska, he worked at communication sites for RCA/Alascom, was a volunteer firefighter and EMT. In Utah he worked security at SUFCo Mine, was a member of the mounted posses/search and rescue, has been a trail guide for the ATV Jamboree and we have been told "uncharted trails went with him". He had a love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing, cattle round up, sheepherder, trained and broke horses and ditch rider. The last while he enjoyed driving the senior bus as a volunteer. He said he never did have a job he didn’t like and served others right up to his passing.
Don is survived by his children: Kae (Richard) Olson, Tooele; Kurk (Deanna) Jamison, Hawaii; Jay (Colleen) Jamison, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings: Theodore "Ted" (Sherri) Jamison, CA; Naomi Pearl (Gary) McConaghy, OR.
Also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremy Curtis Paul; siblings: Harold Scott Jamison, Frances Fay Dick, Virginia Mae Mathews, George Washington Jamison, Geraldine Ann Israel, Freddie Lee Jamison.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Venice Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary. There will be no public visitation the day of the services . Burial will be in the Venice Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and Navy Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Paiute Trail Committee . Donation box will be available at the visitation and services.
