Donald Kay Ipson, 61, passed away June 8, 2017 at his home in Junction. He was born August 3, 1955 in Junction to Hyrum Madsen and Jean Allen Ipson. He married Debra Wilder on August 13, 2004 in Draper, Utah.
Don didn’t know a stranger, everyone he met became his friend. His strong presence in his community and at Home Depot will be missed deeply. He was loved by all who knew him.
He loved camping, fishing, 4-wheeling and any opportunity to be with his children and grandchildren.
A member of the Fellowship of the Eagles, Don also served as a post president. He also served as the family readiness group leader for the medical command with the Utah Army National Guard. He was a Junction Town board member and a volunteer fireman for the town of Junction.
Don is survived by his wife; children: Brandon (Heather) Ipson, Monticello; Brett (Mikalene) Ipson, St. George; Candice Tinat, Salt Lake; Carmel (Jenn) McMurchie, Salt Lake; 4 grandchildren; siblings: Carol Jean (Richard) Nobis, and Madalene Munford, both of Santa Clara; Hyrum (Debbie) Ipson, Westminster, CO; Ross (Cheryl) Ipson, American Fork.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Thora Ann Ipson; brother-in-law, Larry Munford; nephew, Greg Ipson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Junction Town Firehouse. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield, or Friday at the fire station in Junction at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Junction Cemetery.
