Dolores “Dee” Himmelsbach Mering was always a strong independent soul, living life on her own terms. She was never able to rely on anyone but herself, which added to her strong and stubborn will.
She loved her God, Jehovah and read her scriptures daily, always leaning on the strong arm of the Lord. Frugal with time and money, she took care that she had what she needed in her old age.
“Dee” was an accomplished Artist from a young age having studied at the Art Institute of Buffalo, NY. She had won many ribbons and recognition during her lifetime using many different mediums. Though it was her portrait work that took center stage, she always reached out to take on different subjects.
“Grammy” will sadly be missed by family and friends as she was such a stalwart to us all. She lived to her 97th birthday before going home to family that has gone on before. The Angels came to pick her up the day after her birthday on February 11, 2023.
Dolores was born on February 10, 1926 in Buffalo, New York to Henry Jacob and Carmen Cuevas Himmelsbach. Her siblings are: George, Bessie, Gerald, Clyde, Geraldine, Audrey and Zona.
She is survived by her children: Pamela Lynn Lankford (Harold) Tree, of Gunnison, UT and Dale Thomas (Kathy) Lankford, of Caldwell, ID; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.
