Dick Arnold Bills, 70, our loving husband, brother, father, grandpa and friend, passed away in Centerfield, Utah, surrounded by family, after a valiant battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
Dick was born August 27, 1943 in Salina to Carlyle T. and Laura Elvira Amtoft Bills. The family lived in Redmond before moving to Cedar City, where Dick went to and graduated from Cedar High School in 1961.
He was attending the College of Southern Utah (currently SUU) and training horses when he met the love of his life and married Madolyn Carroll on August 24, 1963. They moved to Salt Lake City where Dick went to work at Ajax Presses.
In 1977, Dick moved his family to Salina where he was employed as an inventory controller with SUFCo Coal Mine. He retired in 2005 because of health reasons.
Dick was most happy being with his family, friends and in the mountains. He was an accomplished horseman and a skilled hunter. He enjoyed riding horses and 4-wheelers. He looked forward to time spent hunting, fishing, shooting trap and sharing these passions with his family and friends.
Dick and Madolyn are greatful for the 50 wonderful years together, and for 70 years of a fun filled life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Madolyn Carroll Bills of Salina; children, Glen Carlyle (Gina) Bills of Aurora, Carol Ann "Annie" Bills-Veater of Richfield; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; step-mother, Shirley Foster Bills of Cedar City, brothers, James Carlyle (Connie) Bills of Enoch and Lynn Ray Bills of Mars Hill, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Salina 2 nd LDS Ward Chapel, 87 South 100 East, where friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 5 to 7 or on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery.
