Dianne Weeks

Taylorsville, Utah

One of the most wonderfully pure creatures to ever walk the earth, Dianne Black Weeks, 65, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013. A lovely lady in the eyes of all who had the joy of knowing her, she succumbed to liver cancer.

Born in Richfield, June 27, 1948, Dianne came into the farm home in Antimony, Utah of Burns K. and Mona Lundgreen Black. She was the blessing child because she came just six months after her Navy veteran father left to serve an LDS mission to the Eastern States. The farm and family grew to become the well-known Rockin’ R Ranch of Antimony.

All who knew Dianne would agree that she was as close to perfect as one can get in this life, a true angel. Never a dispiriting thought or word emanated from her unspoiled personality. Long-time leadership in Primary and Young Women’s presidencies endeared Dianne to hundreds of youth.

Her married life began in the Salt Lake Temple with Werner Glen Weeks of Provo, Utah, on June 19, 1970. She was Primary president of the Ulm, Germany Servicemen’s Branch where the couple spent the first year of their marriage while Glen finished his Army active duty as a helicopter pilot. Returning to Provo, she graduated from BYU with her husband the same day in 1973, lived for five years in Springville, and then lived in Taylorsville until her death.

Mother to eight children: Annika Crump, Tooele; Timothy Gerome, Cedar City; Cory Glen, Taylorsville; Nicole Skowronek, South Jordan; Kristen Peterson, Spanish Fork; Mark Everett, Cedar City; Jeffrey Alan, Orem; and Heather Weeks, Salt Lake City; 17 grandchildren, all knew she was the perfect matriarch; also survived by her mother of Antimony and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Valley Park 2nd Ward, 5233 South 3200 West. Friends may call Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery.
