Diana "Dee" Garmann, 84, died Thursday, 28 January 2016, at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Panguitch, Utah. She was born 23 August 1931 as Diana Clare Greer to Lloyd Osborne Greer and Lillian Ballard in Victor, Idaho. The beloved wife of Dennis D. Garmann and a resident of Junction, Utah the last decades of her life, "Dee" was adored by her family and friends. They were her greatest joy and her constant focus and concern. She found deepest comfort in her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the principle of Christ-like service.
Dee was never happier than when she could create something with her hands and give it to family and friends. A superb seamstress, she made countless quilts, articles of clothing, embroidered items, dolls, and dress-up and doll clothes for her loved ones. She loved learning new crafts, making birthday and Christmas gifts, cooking for crowds, traveling with family, and caring for beloved pets.
Diana will be remembered most for rescuing, loving, and tenderly caring for family and friends throughout her life, beginning in her childhood. She embraced the role of stepmother after already raising her first children, served and cared for extended family of extended family, and always welcomed grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her limited later years, she also listened, laughed, and counseled with loved ones by phone on a daily basis.
Diana is survived by her husband Dennis, three of their children—Allen Blake Boatright (Miriam) of Payson, Utah; James Edward Garmann (Angie) of San Diego, California; and Tina Marie Garmann McCauley (Dan) of Meadview, Arizona—and two siblings, Dennis Edward Smith and Judy Smith MacMillan (Don). Two other children—Ronald Duane Garmann and Mary Alecia Sibio—preceded her in death, as well as a brother, Ballard J. Greer (Kathryn) and a grandson. She is survived by twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Circleville 1 st Ward Chapel, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Junction Cemetery.
