DeVon Eugene Weeks

August 24, 1937 — January 8, 2018

DeVon Weeks, 80, passed from this mortality on January 8, 2018 at his home in Sigurd, Utah. He was born August 24, 1937 in Fairview, Idaho to Orson Elmer and Wilma Ann Stephenson Weeks. While being stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base in California, he met his sweetheart, Florine Rose Schultze, of Santa Rose, CA. They were married October 26, 1957. This union was later solemnized for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully where ever he was called. During the early years of their marriage, Von served as a stake missionary in the Santa Rosa Stake. Before moving to Caldwell, Idaho, Von helped to complete construction of the Santa Rosa LDS Stake Center. He lived an exemplary life of hard work, dedication to family and church service. His and Florine's home was always open and welcome to anyone who needed a loving home and a guiding hand. In his heart those who came to stay were always considered an extension of his own family.

Von's family includes his wife, Florine; children: Von (Jeannie), Florine (Ron), Dianna, (Liz) Don-deceased, Janice (Don) and James (Kristi); 40 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; sisters: Joan, Linda and Bonnie; brothers: Delmar, Gene and Ken. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Don and Bill; grandsons, Mathew and Scott; sister, Oleen; and brothers, Monte and Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Sigurd Ward Chapel, where friends and family may call for viewing on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30. Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the US Air Force Honor Guard.
