Dennis G. Mason, 71, passed away peacefully January 20, 2015, in his home in Aurora. He was born October 9, 1943 in Salina to Glenn and Ora Mason. He married his sweetheart, Deanna Joyce Tobler, February 5, 1965 in Richfield.
Dennis spent is entire life in Sevier County where he worked at the Sufco Mine and enjoying what he called "God’s Country".
Dennis fully loved his family, his cowboy friends, and the outdoors. His passion was hunting, camping and spending days in the saddle on the desert chasing wild horses.
Dennis was always found at 10 am near the Premium in Salina getting a "Fix" and then doing his chores with his close buddies.
He loved his grandkids and teaching them the beauty of the outdoors.
Dennis was a very strong man and had a wonderful heart. He battled cancer many times over his years with the thoughtful help of his loving wife Joyce.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Joyce: children: Scott (Cinda) Mason, Richfield; Angie (Walt) Merchant, Aurora; Heather (Rick) Torgerson, Salina; Chance Mason, St. George; grandchildren: Drake (Shakari) Mason, Karolann (Jordan) Jones, Mika Mason, Morgan (Josh) Houghton, Dylan (Joquelle) Merchant, Carsyn Merchant, Chayce Merchant, Kyler Yardley, Kaylie Yardley, Peyton Torgerson, Mayci Torgerson, Trey Torgerson, Cale Torgerson; 6 great-grandchildren:
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Carl Mason, Versel J. Mason; and life long friend Denny Thurston.
The family would like to thank Gunnison Valley Home Health and Hospice for their loving care during his passing.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Salina Stake Center, 98 West 400 North, where friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
