Dennis Jorgensen

Salina, Utah

Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Dennis T. Jorgensen, age 62, passed away peacefully at home in Salina on Friday, February 1, 2019, after a valiant battle with esophageal cancer. Dennis was born in Gunnison, Utah on March 24, 1956 to Terrance "Tex" and Luella Munk Jorgensen. He was raised in Redmond, Utah and attended North Sevier High School. His uncle Owen was tasked with giving all of the kids a nickname and he will forever be known to his boyhood friends as Barney. He loved Redmond and has many fond memories of growing up in a small town.

He married the love of his life, Randi Jean Crooks, on August 21,1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They spent the first year of their marriage in Murray, Utah where Dennis worked for Soule’ Steel. They continued their journey in 1977 and moved to Las Vegas. Shortly after settling in, Dennis was hired at Steel Engineers, Inc, where he worked for 16 years. In 1984, they welcomed their first daughter, Ashley Rae. In 1987, they were blessed with another daughter, Natalie Nicole. Their family was now complete.

Dennis remained at Steel Engineers until 1994 when he and Randi decided to move back to Utah. He worked at Canyon Fuel for 15 years and finished up his career back in Las Vegas at Steel Edge, Inc, formerly Steel Engineers. He made and cherished many friendships along the way. He will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Randi; daughters: Ashley (Byron) Howard, Ivins; and Natalie Jorgensen (Dexter Lewis), Salina. He also leaves behind his grandchildren . . . the 7 lights of his life: Brylee, Daxton, Halle, Gavin, Avery, Camden and Tate. His mother, Luella, Redmond; sisters: Paula (Paul) Jensen, Redmond; and Diane Jensen, West Valley City; sister-in-law, Jackie Beach and brother-in-law, Gary Crooks.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Terrance; sister, Jana Roberts; and brother Blake Jorgensen; mother-in-law, Carma Crooks; sisters-in-law: Lisa Piro and Laura Crooks.

He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, as well. Everybody loved Uncle Dennis!
