Delores Daniels
Joseph, Utah
Delores was born August 4, 1935 to James Glen Munson and Thelma Amanda Dennis in an old mining town called Mohrland, Utah. Her father was a coal miner and the family resided in many mining towns throughout the region. She was the second to the youngest of six children. The family settled in Hiawatha in 1941 where she would spend her childhood and attended school. The mining work brought to the town many diverse people and cultures that would provide her with lifelong friendships, people skills and sense of adventure.
Delores met Clair Daniels at a school dance and they began seeing each other shortly afterwards. Delores married Clair October 1st 1953 where they began a lifetime of love, companionship, and partnership.
Delores spent many years working in sewing factories, retail, and as a business partner to Clair on multiple ventures. They spent many years in Mt. Pleasant, Utah where they made many memories and lifelong friendships. In 1980 they purchased a vacant historic church in Sevier, Utah where they spent years running Country Church Antiques shop in the top of the building and living in the large daylight basement. The antique business was their passion and they made road trips all across the country several times each year to attend auctions, estate sales, and antique shows. Country Church Antiques was in business for 25 years.
On June 27, 1964, Delores and Clair welcomed their only child, Jeffrey Clair Daniels. Delores had wanted and prayed for a baby for 10 years and when Jeff arrived, she thought he was perfect. Jeff remained the apple of her eye until his passing in 2001. Delores often spoke of how happy her reunion with her son will be on the other side of the veil. Delores and Clair welcomed a foster daughter Julia, who they loved and accepted her and her children as family.
Delores married JR Jolley on June 8, 2013. She loved and respected JR beyond measure. They went on their share of adventures and Delores loved going to the temple with him. She not only loved JR but his family as well who she remained close with for the rest of her life.
She was a devoted follower of her faith and served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.
Delores had a life long love of sewing and was a master seamstress. She loved history, antiques, museums, vintage Barbie dolls and jewelry.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, James Glen and Thelma Amanda Dennis Munson; siblings, Beverly, Myrna, Glen, Dennis, Jerold; son, Jeffrey Clair Daniels; husbands, Clair Daniels, J.R Jolley.
