Delma Jukes

Our beloved Delma Lund Jukes, 92, passed away May 20, 2015, at her home in Marysvale, Utah. She was born January 7, 1923, in Marysvale, to Bert Glen Lund (1901-1938) and Mary Julia Wilson Lund (1901-1988). She graduated from Marysvale High School and married Marvin Kienke Jukes (1921-1995) on September 23, 1942, in Burley, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized on March 16, 1945, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1995.
Delma was a Richfield Reaper correspondent for Marysvale for many years. She enjoyed her 25 years as a volunteer tour guide docent at the Fremont Indian State Park and also her ventures with the Archeology Club of South Central Utah. Delma served as an elections board worker for 36 years and was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers throughout her life. She worked in the Primary over 70 years and grown-up children in California and Utah constantly honor her teaching and love…and cookies. She loved music, flowers, writing, and her family.
Delma is survived by her children: Lillian (Bill) King, Richard (Marie) Jukes, Walter (Sandy) Jukes; son-in-law, Bob Davidson; daughter-in-law: Diana Lynn Jukes-Cooper; and by 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; siblings: Bernet McDonald and Rosalie Peterson, both of Marysvale; and countless nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; children: Chad Kay Jukes (1955-1993) and Linda Ann Jukes Davison (1947-2002); siblings: Benjamin John Lund (1933-1933), Leora Lund Roderick (1926-1995), Berta Deanne Lund Taylor (1938-2008), and Bert Glen Lund (1929-2010).
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Marysvale LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday, May 28, from 6-8 P.M. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield or Friday at the ward chapel in Marysvale from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Thompsonville Cemetery.
