Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, David Evans Wallingford returned to his heavenly home on November 24, 2014 after living a life of love, integrity and service.  He was born on March 22, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, the fourth child of Mac Irvine Wallingford and Almeda Helen Evans.  He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by six siblings, John, Jean Duncan, Peter, Jay, Jenny Williams, Michael and eight children Kimberly, Rebecca (Jared) Godfrey, Deborah (Nathan) Jacobson, Daniel (Anna), Joseph (Kate), Stephen (Alix), Sarah (Tyler) Jensen, Rachael (Michael) Costa and twelve grandchildren.

After spending his childhood in Maryland, he graduated from high school and joined the United States Army.  The major part of his time in the service was spent in Wurzburg, Germany where he served as a medical laboratory technician.

After leaving the service he attended the University of Maryland and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in May 1970.  He was called to serve in the Japan Central LDS Mission which later became the Japan Kobe Mission from 1972 to 1974.

After his mission he went to Brigham Young University to major in music education where he met his sweetheart, Carolyn Badger, They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1976.

He lived in Utah all his married life and supported his family by working for the United States Postal Service.  He was lovingly referred to as the “singing” mailman and impacted the lives of many with his kind words and wonderful sense of humor.  He was a talented actor and played leading roles in roadshow productions and Sanpete Community Theater melodramas. He loved to sing tenor solos from the Handel’s Messiah, coordinate barbershop quartet groups, sing duets with his wife Carolyn and gather friends to sing in events all over the community.  Most of his church service has been spent in teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and directing the ward choir.  He has faithfully sung in ward and stake choirs, always with the love of his life.   He has now gone on to sing with family and friends in the Heavenly Choir.
