Dave Maurer

Hurricane/Fish Lake, Utah

David Walter Maurer, 82, died peacefully of natural causes at his cabin in Fish Lake, Utah on June 16, 2016. Dave was born in 1934 to Lawrence Samuel and Edith Simpson Mitchell Maurer in Spring Canyon, Carbon County, Utah.

He graduated from Granite High School, then BYU where he earned a BS in business. He married his college sweetheart, Anna Grace Brady in the Salt Lake Temple and together they had four children and a wonderful life.

Dave was always an honest hard worker and valued his opportunities to be a self-employed business owner. He relished his time outdoors hunting, fishing, boating or spending summers at his cabin at Fish Lake. When he retired, he and Anna built the home of their dreams in Hurricane where they happily spent their remaining years among good friends, beautiful surroundings and frequent family visits.

Dave is preceded in death by his wife Anna. Surely their reunion will be a joyous occasion. He is survived by his children: Annette (Van), Mike (Laurel), Brad (Alex) and Dianne (Reggi), 8 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren.

Dave was a beloved patriarch of our family and his memory will be forever in our hearts.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to all those who knew and loved our mom and dad, and who offered friendship and care to them unconditionally. A special thanks to the friends at Fish Lake for their extension of love and service.

As per his request, a private family graveside service has taken place in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
