Darrell Lorus Despain, 80, passed away July 29, 2014 in Provo. He was born October 16, 1933 in Axtell to Clare and Mabel Despain. He married Margie Hazel Dennison, September 25, 1953 in the Manti Temple.
Darrell graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and Snow College. He was by trade a farmer and also a truck driver. Darrell was instrumental in installing pipe on the Axtell culinary and irrigation systems. He served as water master of Willow Creek Irrigation for about 20 years. He enjoyed the mountains, camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Margie; children, Valarie (Burke) Black, Sherrie Memmott, Kim (Carma) Despain, Kent (Mary) Despain and Clayton (Vickie) Despain; 20 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis (Don) Quarnberg, Don Rae (Eunice) Despain and Charles (Annette) Despain.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Claris (Marden) Stone; grandson, Jared Despain.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 in the Axtell LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 or on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery.
