Our loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend DarNell passed away January 20, 2025 in Richfield. DarNell was born on November 27, 1957 in Boulder City, Nevada and joined her loving parents Erold and Chelnisha. Chelnisha later married Lewis Jackson Peeples and adopted DarNell. She is the sister to Kyle (Wendy) Perkins, Annette (Carey) Barney, Janet (Doug) Evans and Keith (Jolene) Peeples.

DarNell married the love of her life, Arlen Wayne Edwards in February 1983 in Henderson, Nevada. They enjoyed many fun filled years together. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Diane (Matthew) Shrout. She also has 4 amazing grandchildren who DarNell loved more than life itself. 

She loved playing card and board games with Skyler, Dameon, Jaslin and Ryan who were not only the world’s best grandkids, but her friends. They love their sweet grandma and will miss her deeply.

DarNell enjoyed crocheting. She crocheted several afghan quilts along with a variety of other crocheted items. She loved to crochet Christmas tree angel toppers, scarves for the homeless, snowflake ornaments by the dozens and was always up for any Humanitarian project.

She was an avid and skilled chess player. She loved to just spend time with her family doing anything that gave them the opportunity to just be together. If you ever needed a good laugh, all you needed to do was visit with DarNell. She loved to make people laugh and was always there when you needed a pick me up.

DarNell had great faith in the power of prayer. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a wonderful example. All who knew her, loved her, and will miss her.

She is preceded in death by her fathers, Erold W Perkins and Lewis Jackson Peeples.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 6th Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing at the church prior to services from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
