Danny M Anderson

April 5, 1946 — February 22, 2014

Danny McKay Anderson, 67, of Annabella, passed away February 22, 2014 in Richfield. He was born April 5, 1946 in Richfield to LeGrand and Vera Anderson. He married Sharon Roberts for time and all eternity on August 31, 1968, in the Manti Temple.

Danny grew up on a ranch in Koosharem. As a boy, he enjoyed playing with his cousins, and spent most of his time outdoors. His family moved to Annabella when he began junior high school.

When Danny was a junior in high school, he joined the Utah National Guard and served for 16 years. After graduating high school, Danny attended what is now known as Southern Utah University in Cedar City. With his ambitious work ethic, and drive to succeed, he moved back to Annabella and started his own business and continued to own and operate Sevier Valley Glass in Richfield for nearly 45 years.

A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Danny spent much of his time serving others. Whether it was a donation of glass or mirrors, or simply helping someone in need, his love for his neighbor and fellow man was evident.

He was a craftsman and meticulous about any and all projects that he was involved with. Whether it was working in his yard for endless hours or helping his children build their own homes, his eye for perfection and beauty was effortless.

Those who were close to him knew that his family was his foremost priority and with whom he spent the majority of his time. Many hours were spent at the family cabin that he built with his own humble hands, creating life-long memories. Hunting, fishing and hiking were just some of the things they enjoyed together. Although sitting on the deck with his dog Mugzee, simply visiting, scoping for elk and deer and watching the sunset, might have been his favorite pastime of all.

Although Danny was a man of few words, his sincerity and genuine spirit spoke volumes to anyone who had the pleasure of sharing this life with him. We were honored to have such an experience and will miss having more. We love you so much.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon; his five children, Rodney (Jessie) Anderson of Elsinore, Cody (Angie) Anderson of Herriman, Clint (Jill) Anderson of Annabella, Alaina Dastrup of Cedar City, Sharidan (Wade) Henrie of Herriman; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Rolaine Haynie, Pauline Harward and Connie Anderson all of Salt Lake valley.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Richard Haynie and Gaylord Harward

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Annabella 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel in Annabella on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30.
