April 25, 1962 — August 3, 2011

Daniel Todd Adams, 49, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at home in Manti from complications due to cancer. ó n, Paraguay mission, which would change not only Danny’s life but also the life of his sweetheart Marina Celeste Galeano whom he would meet and convert while serving faithfully in Paraguay. They were subsequently married on March 3, 1983 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and made their home in Provo, Utah, where Danny studied at Brigham Young University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. After a brief stay in Colorado Springs, Danny and Celeste made their way back to Utah settling in Manti, where Danny would find work teaching at Snow College and Wasatch Academy. At the same time he was continuing his own learning receiving a Master’s in Education from Utah State University. USU would later employ Danny as the Director of Continuing Education for the Southwest region of Utah where he facilitated great expansion and growth for the accessibility and availability of distance education. During this time he served as Bishop for the Manti 3 rd ward and saw much growth from his service. He eventually found his way back to his true love of teaching and again was in the classrooms of Wasatch Academy picking up the additional responsibilities of coaching tennis. He was pursuing his PhD in Education from the University of Wyoming with only review and editing of his dissertation remaining. Dan also served as a counselor in the Snow College 2 nd Stake Presidency, and as a member of the Sanpete County School Board being elected to that position two consecutive terms, all while still maintaining a balance in his life finding time for Manti high school athletics and a frequent Saturday morning motorcycle ride. Danny’s was a life of constant teaching and serving in the many capacities he filled among the community, be it ecclesiastically or scholastically Danny was a teacher and a leader who influenced many for good. His love for people was always apparent and his passions for sports, education and motorcycles were ever present and instilled in his children. He truly was an "Animal" not in behavior or manner but in life and living his convictions, accomplishing much in not much time. Danny considered his family the "Apple of My Eye" and for whom he would do anything. His life was lived-short but not short-lived, and his influence and goodness will long be remembered and felt.

Danny was born April 25, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois to Jessie Noble Cook Adama and Lisle Kent Adams. The family later moved to Burbank, California where Danny spent the majority of his childhood playing football, earning himself the nickname "The Animal," and riding his motorcycle in the desert with his dad and brothers. The family then moved to Monroe, Utah, where Danny finished his last two years of high school and maintained his reputation as an "Animal" on the football field and quickly took to the Utah Mountains with his motorcycle.

Danny is survived by his wife Celeste; children: McKay, MacKenzie (Sarah), Marie and McKellen; and grandchild, Ashton; parents, Jessie and Kent; siblings, Scott (Sharon), Janet, Gary (Gini) and Ron (Kara); along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Manti LDS Stake Center at 11:00 a.m. Viewings were held Sunday August 7 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Monday at 9:00 a.m. Burial in the Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
