Dan H Floyd, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, brother and son unexpectedly passed away on December 23, 2017 in Payson, Utah at the age of 53. He was born to Clettis Earl and Melba Ramona Hill Floyd on March 4, 1964 in Montrose, Colorado. He is survived by his wife: Pamela Beutler Floyd; children: Brian (Shadell) Floyd, Chris (Jenna) Floyd, Jason (Kelsey) Floyd, Nathan (Sasha) Floyd, William Floyd; grandchildren: Gabriel Floyd, Nolan Floyd, Camrin Floyd, Daxon Floyd, Macie Floyd, Peyson Floyd, Jamison Floyd and Autumn Nelson; brothers: Tom (Santa) Floyd, Ned (Dawn) Floyd, Bob (Jennifer) Floyd; sister: Esther (Mark) Wheat. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Daniel Beutler and sister-in-law Brenda Floyd.

Dan graduated from Thrasher High School in Booneville, Mississippi as a member of the Beta Club, a national organization recognizing and honoring high academic achievement. At age 14 he became an Eagle Scout and continued in scouting throughout his life. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California San Bernardino Mission.

Dan met the love of his life, Pamela Beutler, while attending LDS Young Adult activities in Sacramento. On March 21, 1989 they were married in Carmichael, Sacramento, California in the LDS Institute building at American River College. On July 3, 1990 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple.

Dan loved to be with his family. He especially loved taking his grandchildren fishing which he often did. He was a hard worker and loved to do things for others. Dan lived a life dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in many callings. As a high priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he honored his priesthood, attended his meetings and displayed an excellent example of love and faith for his children and grandchildren. He quickly made friends with everyone he met. He found great fellowship in the Church. Wherever he lived, his ward family became extended family to him. He cherished these relationships.

Dan was a pick-up and delivery truck driver extraordinaire. His work ethic was remarkably outstanding. For over 30 years he worked for Roadway and YRC Trucking in Sacramento, Dallas, and Salt Lake City. He was a loyal and self motivated worker who was recognized as one who worked harmoniously with management and with his fellow employees.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Loafer LDS Chapel, 220 S Woodland Hills Dr, Woodland Hills, where friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m..
