Dallin  Lowe  Magleby, 80, passed away June 6, 2012 in Gunnison. He was born December 5, 1931 in Monroe to John Bert and Rosetta Lowe Magleby. He married Donna Barney, June 21, 1957 in the Manti Temple.
Dad is a 1950 graduate from South Sevier High School. He attended Branch Agricultural College (BAC) in Cedar City. He was drafted into the US Army and served in the Korean War.
Dad was active in sports, playing basketball and tennis. He loved hunting, fishing and horseback riding. His greatest love was the cabin at Magleby Reservoir on Monroe Mountain.
Dad worked for Richfield Distributing and the US Forest Service. He later purchased the Magleby home and farm.
Dad was  a kind, loving and patient man. In his gentle way we knew we were loved.
Grandchildren will best remember sour dough pancakes, biscuits and scones, bucket rides in the tractor and giving Certs to the children he saw. He was a tease, but that’s how you knew he loved you.
Dad became known for his seasoning salt that he gave freely to friends and neighbors. You could count on him if there was a need: backhoe work, farming help and advice. He was a Little League coach and an active Monroe volunteer fireman for 37 years. He had a talent with wood working; many family and friends have a treasure he made with his own hands. Many in Monroe will remember him driving around in his truck to visit all his friends.
Dad was a member of the LDS Church and a dedicated home teacher. He also served in the scouting program.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Monroe; children: Denise (Thayne) Gish, Providence; Daril (Dana) Magleby, Lindon; and Devin (Laurie) Magleby, Monroe; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren;  sister Venice (David) LeFevre of Salem; sister-in-law, Hazel Dawn Magleby, California; brother-in-law, Phillip Nielson, St. George.
Preceded in death by parents; daughter-in-law, Susan Magleby; siblings, John Bert Magleby; Lois Jean (Chase) Wilson;  Merrill E. Magleby;  Rose Marie Nielson, Lewis Vern Magleby.
The family gives thanks to those who helped in a time of need from the Sevier Valley Medical Center and Gunnison Valley Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe Stake Center, 140 South Main.  Friends may call Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the stake center in Monroe.  Burial will be in the Monroe Cemetery with military rites by the Monroe American Legion Post #37.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary of Richfield, Salina and Manti.
