Dale Homer Ogden

Dale Homer Ogden, 89, of Richfield, passed away March 16, 2018 - just 40 minutes after his younger brother Glen. He was born June 20, 1928 in Central Valley to Joseph Lerue and Elsie Ward Ogden. He married Elizabeth Joy Betenson, March 16, 1951 in the Manti Utah Temple. She preceded him in death December 12, 2013.

Dale was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many different capacities. He and his wife served together in many callings as well.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his service, Dale returned to the Air Force as an civilian engineer. He retired after 38 years of service as one of the top engineers. He and Joy made many friends during their time in the service.

After retirement, he and Joy moved home to Richfield where they were involved in many different activities and organizations. They loved, finally, being able to be close to other family members.

He is survived by children: David D (Pamela) Ogden, Sugar City, ID; Donald B (Jackie) Ogden, Austin, TX; Benjamin C Ogden, Kirksville, MO; Carol J (Atelea) Nepote’, Bountiful; daughters-in-law: Suzi Ogden, Boise, ID; Amy Ogden, Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings: Carol Nuffer, Richfield; Arlene (Gary) Malchus, Milford; Francis (Robert) Chia, CA; sister-in-law: Delles Ogden, Richfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Joseph B. Ogden; siblings: Glen W Ogden, Howard (Virginia) Ogden, Geraldine (John) Ragsdale,; brother-in-law: Peter Nuffer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Richfield 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West. Friends may call for viewing at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Air Force Honor Guard. Online guest book www.maglebymortuary.com
