Dahl LeRue Brown, 72, passed away November 30, 2012 in Aurora. He was born October 17, 1940 in Salina to Dennis LeRue and Elna Lanea DeLange Brown. He married Elaine Munson December 29, 1967 in the St. George Temple.
Dahl graduated from Richfield High School. He joined the US Air Force and served four years. He graduated from SUU with his Bachelors’s Degree and later a Master’s Degree in education from BYU. He retired after 32 years of teaching in Wasatch and Sevier School Districts.
As a member of the LDS Church, he served in the New Zealand South Mission. He served in many positions in his ward including: Young Men’s president, a Sunday School teacher, president of the Elder’s Quorum, a counselor in the bishopric and executive secretary in the stake. He was also a Manti Temple worker.
Special thanks go to Dahl’s care givers: Vivian and Corky Youngkin, and DeEtte Thomas. Also IHC Hospice, Doreen, Helen, Debbie, Kat, Dr. David Crimin, Ray & Doug; Hospice volunteers: Linda, Bruce and Barbara; friends and neighbors and family who visited and kept Dahl company for the last two years. Last but not least, Dr. Paul Gardner and Dr. T. J. Blair for giving us seven more years to be taught and loved by Dahl.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, of Aurora; children: Dennis Wayne Brown, Aurora; Warren Mark "Buzz" (Bobbie) Brown, Aurora; Lisa Elaine (Ron) Nance, Herriman; and Jennifer (Darryl) Bosshardt, Heber City; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; siblings: Carolyn (Weldon) Bagley, Tempe, AZ; Melvin (Bonnie) Brown, Ojai, CA; Marva Ann (John) Lewis, Pleasant Grove; Gwen (Jerald) Taylor, West Jordan; Ross (Kay) Brown; Richfield; LaJuana (Randy) Robinson, Paragonah; LaJune (Chad) Sorenson, Koosharem; Vivian (Corky) Youngkin, Austin; Connie Jolley, Koosharem.
Preceded in death by parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Aurora 2 nd Ward Chapel, where friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery with military rites by the Salina American Legion Post #36. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
