Corinne Winget
Monroe, Utah
Corinne Evelyn Allison Winget, 89, of Monroe, passed away January 12, 2015 in Provo, Utah. She was born December 10, 1925 in Fountain Green, Utah, to Carl Weeden and Edith Ann Anderson Allison.
Corinne grew up in Fountain Green, Utah, San Jose, California and finally Monroe, Utah, where she graduated from LDS Seminary and South Sevier High School in 1943. After WWII, she married her high school sweetheart, Melvin Glade Winget, in the Manti LDS Temple on June 3, 1946.
If we could sum up Mom’s life, it would be "Love". She loved her family, the LDS Church, the scriptures, music and her pets. Two of her most favorite activities were family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and of course, her genealogy. After those came her music and her books. She often sang with friends at funerals, ward choir, and her quartet even made a record. She always faithfully fulfilled her callings in the Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society, whether as chorister, counselor or president.
As Mom got older and started losing her sight, she had to give up some of her favorite activities. Even though she could no longer see her books, she chose to have books-on-tape sent to her so she could still read with her ears.
Corinne is survived by her husband, Glade Winget, Monroe; children: David Winget, Richfield; Debra (LaDale) Mitchell, Ogden; and Pam (Ross) Murdock, Enoch; along with 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty; and brother, Carl.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Monroe 4 th Ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North, where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
