Corene Christensen Anderson, 87, passed away September 17, 2016 in Richfield. She was born February 18, 1929 in Richfield to Delbert and Helen Neola Peterson Christensen. She married Kyhl C Anderson, July 6, 1946 in Pioche, Nevada. The marriage was solemnized January 22, 1963 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death September 23, 1991.

Mom worked as a "School Lunch Lady" at Ashman Elementary for over 20 years, creating menus and serving thousands of balanced meals during her career. After retirement, she went back to help make the famous Peanut Butter bars. She also volunteered at the elementary reading with the kids.

Corene was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully in many callings, including the Cub Scouts, Relief Society and the Primary.

She enjoyed swimming, bowling, birthday lunch group, morning walks with the girls, quilting and book club. But the things she loved most was being with her family, on vacations, camping and family reunions. She was an avid Jazz fan and took 94 family members with her on her 83rd birthday - it was a great experience and a very fond memory.

Corene is survived by children: Helen Louise (Kenneth) Ogden, West Jordan; Russell K. (Beverly) Anderson, Richfield; Bradley D. Anderson, SLC; Jeffery Lyn (Julie) Anderson, Richfield; daughters-in-law: Kathy Anderson, Monroe; Calene Anderson, Annabella; 27 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way; siblings: JoAnn Hansen, Salt Lake City; David M. Christensen, Sunset; Nan Peacock, Hooper; Terry D. (Marsha) Christensen and Myrna Christensen, both of Richfield; sister-in-law, Debbie Christensen, Venice.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by children: Richard K. Anderson, Jeannene (Boyd) Reese, Michael C. Anderson; grandson, M. Paul Anderson; siblings: Val D. (Dorothy) Christensen, Don Lee (Mary) Christensen, Nedra (Vernell) Foy, Jean (Reed) Kesler, Susan Christensen, Karl D. Christensen; sister-in-law, Lilly Christensen; brothers-in-law: Pete Hansen, Lynn Peacock.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 15th LDS Ward Chapel, 200 East Center. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
