Coreen Quinney

Central Valley, Utah

Our beautiful mother, Coreen Nielson Quinney, 82, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Cedar City. We are so grateful to have been able to talk to her one last time in this mortal life. She was born January 16, 1935 in Smithfield, Utah to Levi Kenneth and Hazel Izatt Nielson. She married Eldon Percival Quinney August 10, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death January 23, 2014.

Our mother loved and cared for us 4 boys as much as a mother could. We may have teased mom about being the "Queen Bee", but deep down we knew she was. We were blessed by her dedication to our Heavenly Father as she assisted each of us to prepare for and serve missions, marry in the temple, and raise righteous families.

Our mother left us with a lifelong legacy of her love for music, she loved to sing and play the piano, was a member of many choirs, including the "Singing Mothers", she served as the ward organist for many years, and directed the ward choir. Our mother also wrote beautiful poems and each recipient was very blessed.

Mom is survived by her boys: Corde (Vickie) Quinney, Craig (Lisa) Quinney, Kirk (Sherry) Quinney, Kyle (Joy) Quinney; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Vaudis Magleby.

We will miss her but we know she is loving the reunion on the other side of the veil with our father; brother Nordell; grandparents, and aunts who have preceded her in death.

Graveside services and interment will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
