Frederick Conrad Keller, 92, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, in Salt Lake City, Utah, of causes incident to age. Con was born November 12, 1922, in Manti, Utah, the second son of Clark and Lucile Anderson Keller.

His family and friends know him as a generous, and loving man, patient and accepting of others, optimistic and cheerful in outlook, modest about his achievements, firm in his faith, and steadfast in service.

After graduation from Manti High School, Con attended Snow College, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was selected for an Army specialized training program, studying electrical engineering at City College of New York for two years, after which he was sent to Europe for one year in the army of the occupation in Germany. He was a member of the Manti Post of the American Legion.

After discharge from the army, Con continued studies in electrical engineering at the University of Utah, graduating in 1948. He worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation 1948 to 1978, and for Salt River Project 1979 to 1991. He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. His employment took him to Davis Dam, Arizona; Spanish Fork and Provo, Utah; and Page, Arizona.

In 1947 he married Carol Beth Smyth, with whom he had six children. Carol died in 1986. In 1991 he married his childhood friend, Margaret Nielson Peterson. They served in the Illinois Peoria Mission, then settled in their home town of Manti, where they served in the Manti Temple. He served faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by wife Margaret; children: Lewis (Pat) Keller, Topeka, KS; Lucy (David) Stewart, Evergreen, CO; David (Susan) Keller, Provo, UT; Anita Keller, Indian Harbour Beach, FL; Fred Keller, Page, AZ; Margaret’s children: Drew (Donna) Peterson, Monument, CO; Chad (Leslie) Peterson, South Jordan, UT; Kim (Donna) Peterson, Centerville, UT; Jill (Don) Bailey, Farmington, UT; Dana (Gary) Brady, Centerville, UT; Leesa (Lyman) Rose, Farmington, UT; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Athlen Keller, Price, UT; brother-in-law, Clyde Jensen, Bountiful, UT.

Con was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Verona; sister, Anne Jensen, and brothers: Bob and Dan.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the Manti Stake Center, 555 E. Union St., where friends may call Thursday, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery with military rites by the Manti American Legion Post #31.
