Clyde A Coates passed away peacefully in the Nephi Heritage Hills Care Center on September 7, 2017 at the age of 81 years old. He was born in Centerfield, Utah on August 22, 1936 to Clarence Hyrum Coates and Laura Jane Metcalf.

Clyde graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1955. He married his best friend and love of his life, Saundra Verna Andreason, June 26, 1959 in Salina. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on June 9, 1962. He farmed with his dad and brothers and carried on farming and ranching traditions as his father and fathers before. He was blessed with five wonderful children, 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, and social workers, Nephi Heritage Care Center and Bristol Hospice workers. He will be remembered as a very loving grandfather, hard worker, loving husband and concerned father.

He is survived by his wife, Saundra, of Gunnison; children: Gaylene (Lance) Dobish; Clyde Jr. (Lori) Coates, Lyle (Sherrie) Coates, Coalette (KC) Bedke and Evan (Stephanie "Skipper") Coates; siblings: Mary Pavich, Cleve Coates, Boyd (Wilma) Coates, Zada (James) Gates, Marge Coates, Clara Coates.

Preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law: Ray Durnndal and Verna Wyroa Larsen Andreason; siblings: Guy Metcalf Coates, Nola Ashton, Laura Faye Coates, Wyona Coates; brother-in-law, John Pavich; sister-in-law: Geneal Coates, grandson: Conner A Coates; great-grandchildren: Caden C. Coates and Carston E. Coates.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Centerfield Friday from 6-8 p.m. or Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery.
