Ida Cloe Jolley Utley, Grandma Cloe, finally agreed to retirement, at the age of 89, on Thursday, June 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family, in Richfield, Utah. She was born on November 14, 1925 to Merlin Henry and Vera Moore Jolley in Antimony, Utah.

Cloe attended school in Piute County, later graduating from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. Some of her fondest memories were of her childhood in Deer Creek. She left Piute County, during WWII to work at Hill Air Force Base, where she met and married Charles DeWayne Ruttan. Later divorced.

After returning home she met her eternal sweetheart, Merrill "Doc" Gardner Utley, at Shady Dell Dance Hall in The Cove (Sevier), Utah. They later married on a snowy day on January 2, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their family consisted of three daughters and a son. They were sealed on September 14, 1963 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.

They began their life together in Sevier, Utah later moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, they then moved to Centerville, Utah where Cloe and Doc designed and built her dream home. Upon Doc’s retirement they returned to Sevier, Utah where they built and operated the Flying ‘U’ Country Store RV Park & Campground, with their daughter Jackie, for the last 34 years.

Cloe was actively involved in the LDS Church, holding various callings throughout her life. She was also actively involved in politics and a lifelong member of the Republican Party. She had a great influence on her large family believing no other success can compensate for failure in the home. Cloe left a legacy of hard work, love, and laughter.

The last item on Cloe’s bucket list was to go see her 94 year old sister, Opal Bragg of Kennewick, Washington. On June 9, 2015 her dream came true when she hit the road for this reunion. She was in the company of her granddaughter, Shevelle Peterson, and her great-granddaughters, Jessica and Layna Pollock, four generations on a road trip! She returned home on June 12, 2015 completing her bucket list.

Cloe fell ill on Sunday, June 14 th passing away 4 days later on the 18 th of June in Richfield, Utah.

Survived by her children: Jackie & Gary Nielson, Sevier; Merlene & Duane Cook, West Jordan; Wesley & Rosemary Utley, Girard, OH; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, plus 1 under construction; 13 great-great-grandchildren, plus 2 under construction; siblings: Opal Bragg, Kennewick, WA; JR & Delores Jolley, Sevier; KB & Nancy Jolley, Loomis, CA.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tanya Lee Marr; son-in-law, Joseph Daniel Blythe Sr.; granddaughter, Robin Stephanie Blythe; great-grandson, Gaige Myers; siblings: Vada Udell Jolley, Patsy Rue Christensen, Merlin Duane Jolley, RD "Rulon" Jolley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Joseph LDS Ward Chapel in Elsinore. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield and Saturday at the ward chapel in Elsinore from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Richfield Care Center and to Dr. David Crimin for the care of our mother throughout this difficult time. And for the compassionate services provided by Joseph Ward.
