Blaine Hatch

Koosharem, Utah

Clifford Blaine Hatch, 92, passed away September 20, 2017 in Richfield. He was born June 2, 1925 in Koosharem to Willard Ervin and Dagney Melinda Olsen Hatch.

Dad lived in Koosharem leaving only for a short time to attend Utah State University in Logan, UT to study agriculture. And the last 4 years when he was in the Richfield Rehab and Care Center.

Blaine married Vespa Torgerson Kouns on July 1, 1966 in Lindon, UT. Solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 10, 1977. She preceded him in death October 14, 2013.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And served in many Church positions.

Dad was a farmer of many acres raising cattle until he sold the farm to his son, Bret. He then worked for a time at Sufco Mine and then as a janitor for Sorensen’s Ranch School. He taught his children and grandchildren to work hard. Dad was a big tease and loved joking around. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children: Jeffery (Becky) Kouns, Pamela (Monte) Peterson, and Clark Hatch; 18 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way and one great-great-grandson

He is also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patricia Darlene Kouns; son, Brett Kouns; and siblings: Willard Arden (Donna) Hatch, Gilbert Lamoyn (Ileen) Hatch, Geneva Ludell (Richard) Langford, Elmina C (Charles) Helquist, Delna Eugenia (Clyde) Cazier, Naomi (Duane) Fullmer.

Special thanks to the Richfield Rehab and Care Center for their loving care of our father these past 4 years; and to Zions Way Hospice for their care of our father.
