Cleo Peterson
Richfield, Utah
Cleo Jean Siewert Peterson, 90, passed away April 28, 2020 in Richfield at her daughter’s home. She was born September 6, 1929 in Bellingham, WA to Herbert and Viola Fitzpatrick Siewert. She married Devon C "Dee" Peterson April 7, 1954 in Alameda, CA. He preceded her in March 18, 2017. She always loved the large Peterson family she married into—they became her family.
Cleo graduated from high school in Oakland, CA at the age of 16. She worked at Christie’s Market (also Doves and Happy Service) as the bookkeeper and at JB’s as a hostess. She also served as treasurer of the ladies auxiliary to the V.F.W. She spent many years volunteering as a pink lady at Sevier Valley Hospital and helping children read at Ashman Elementary. She was the last of a group of friends who went to lunch every week—known as the "Golden Girls".
Cleo will be remembered by her distinctive hair style—a looped braid on the left, her cute giggle, her strong faith and her sweet demeanor. She had a heart of gold. She loved "Days of Our Lives" and Raider’s football games. She loved going for rides in the mountains, looking for deer and doing a little fishing.
Survived by her daughter, Susan Jean (Dan) Hatch, Richfield; grandchildren: Michael Craig Wilbur Jr; Kimberly Sue (Jesse) Washburn; great-grandchildren: Kambree Carolyn Washburn, Brogan Devon Washburn.
Also preceded in death by parents; brother, Donald Siewert.
