Claudette Hawley Brown, 79, passed away May 2, 2016, at her home in Central Valley, Utah. She was born August 26, 1936 in Central Valley to Scott Claude and Beatrice Nielsen Hawley. She married Carlyle L. Brown, December 6, 1954 in the Manti Temple.

Claudette graduated from South Sevier High School in 1954. She was an active member of the LDS Church all of her life, and served faithfully in ward presidencies of the Relief Society, Primary and Young Womens organizations, as a ward organist and visiting teacher in both Salt Lake City and Central Valley. She has been a member of the Camp Cove View chapter of the Daughter’s of Utah Pioneers for nearly 40 years.

Claudette and Carlyle served as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple from 1986 to 1991. Together they served a one year in-service mission at the LDS Employment Center in Richfield.

She is survived by her husband of Central Valley; children, Trudy Rainey, Cedar City; Layne (Karen) Brown, Central Valley; grandchildren: Gregory (Valerie) Rainey, Osan, South Korea; Michele (John) Brown, Santa Clara; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Jerry (Marilyn) Hawley, Richfield; and Don Hawley, Orem.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Gayle Anderson; granddaughter, Jennifer Rainey and sister-in-law, Portia Hawley.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Central Valley 1 st Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 or at the ward chapel in Central Valley on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
